Location….
Situated right at Purlingbrook Falls, Dragonfly cottage is in the perfect location for your Springbrook Accommodation. The Cottage is located only minutes away from breath taking look outs and national park rainforest. An easy 5 minute stroll from the cottage and you’ll arrive at Purlingbrook Falls, which cascades spectacularly 125 Meters down the escarpment. Follow the walking trails down into the valley and you’ll find yourself in a magical world where you’ll pass through pristine rainforests and under waterfalls. For those with a bit more energy you can continue on to Warringa pool, a beautiful spot for a refreshing swim in the cool clear mountain waters, or a picnic.
Nature….
If you’re interested in wildlife, you can find it in abundance on your doorstep. Spend time on our huge back deck, and you’ll be visited by numerous birds, including our local family of Kookaburras, Rosellas, King Parrots and Lorikeets. You might also glimpse Cockatoos, Hawks and numerous other species (Springbrook Nature Center has a list of over 200 bird species seen in Springbrook). At night you’re guaranteed to see our Mountain Brushtail Possums scurrying about. Further up the mountain in Upper Springbrook, head out early and you’ll spot dozens of our local Paddymelon Wallabies foraging along the roadsides and trails.
Facilities….
Of course the cottage is setup with everything you could need, such as a fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, dryer, Flat Screen TV (with USB input), BluRay Player and Ipod Dock. But sometimes it’s the little things that make the difference, like the bird feeding, hiking poles and water bottles, picnic set, coffee grinder and plunger. For indoor entertainment we also supply a number of books on the local area and Australian habitats and a collection of DVD’s. Kids aren’t forgotten, as we have a number of board games, drawing equipment and movies.
